In November 2019, Habanos S.A. joined the list of companies making Zodiac calendar-inspired cigars with the Romeo y Julietta Maravillas 8, a 6 1/10 (155mm) x 55 Toro Gordo commemorating the Year of the Rat. 

Upon the release of the Maravillas 8, it was inevitable that Habanos would announce a follow-up, celebrating the year of the Ox – with the legendary Hoyo de Monterrey brand. 

Similarly, there were only a total of 8,888 boxes of Primaveras. This pertains to the fact that the number 8 is considered a lucky number in Chinese culture. 

Furthermore, each box has a red/gold theme, which are meaningful in Chinese culture: red depicts good fortune and joy, whereas gold symbolizes wealth.
